The Graveyard Website is indebted to the Calderdale Family History Society for all of the burial information contained in the middle and south sections.

We would greatly appreciate any donations that will help contribute towards the maintenance and upkeep of the free database.

We use the platform Dona, approved by The Methodist Church. If eligible, donating through Gift Aid means we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 you give.Click here to donate: https://donate.mydona.com/mount-zion-halifax

Alternatively, if you would prefer to make a donation via bank transfer or cheque, contact finance@calderdalemethodistcircuit.org.uk

The actual burial records, prior to 1887, have still not been found, so only those graves whose inscriptions can be read are included in the database. There are several thousand more burials in these sections, but as yet we do not have the information.

If you are interested in doing more research into the position of the graves in the ‘Unknown Section’, then you can download more details of the old grave rows and sections that we have gleaned from existing documents.

For instance, if you have an old grave reference, there are clues to where the grave might be. We have also colour coded the positions of first burials in graves. This gives some clue as to which areas were being used in particular years.

It is a large psd file, about 15 MB, and you will need to be familiar with a layers program such as Photoshop or Photoshop Elements to see the information.
